I have purchased many different strings from golden set, synthetic 17, poly 17, and hex 17. all are great quality. i have tried many different type of strings and golden set is by far the best string for its price. I chose 17 gauge because of the playability. the poly material lasts very long and has saved me a lot of money.

I have compared Snake Bite to all other Hexa 6/sided Hepta 7/sided and Octa 8/sided strings on the market. I found nothing is close to Snake Bites spin, control, touch and durability as well as price.

I used Hex (18 guage) for more then a year.Initially I blended with Velwet(17cross)but Velwet brakes very quickly. Now I am trying Hex on both and it works for me (58 main/56 cross)exellent spin, control and power and is easy on the arm.

As a 5.0 player who has religiously played with multifilaments for the past 11 years and breaks strings far too often, I decided to give GS strings a shot and have been thoroughly impressed with all of their products. I never thought I would enjoy playing with polyesters again after my bad experience with them in the early 2000s, but GS polys have changed my mind, particularly Snakebite. It offers tremendous spin and control, and essentially extends the court of play and lowers the net, allowing me to really hit out on the ball. Durability is fantastic and I love that I'm not having to restring so often(with multi I would break every 3 weeks; Snakebite lasts 6+ before it's ready to come out). Not only is the string a value, but the durability makes it an even greater cost savings.

I've been a fan of this string for a while now. I'm a 5.0 with a semi western forehand and 2handed backhand and I hit heavy top off both sides. What I love about this string is that it grabs the ball as well as black code yet has the tension retention of a multi. It's the only poly string I can leave in there until it breaks, everything else I cut out after 20 hours. Even with my strokes it takes me several hours of hard hitting to break them (20+ hours). It ain't the most comfortable poly but it doesn't hurt my arm and I'm looking for performance mainly. Give it a try. I like the 17 gauge.

I have been using snake bite for almost 1 year. The combination of power and spin is better than any string I have ever used. I have been playing tennis for 30+ years and have used a wide variety of strings from natural gut, alu power to the cheapest nylon from the 1970`s. My only piece of advice is to find the tension that is right for you. I have found that it plays best when strung about 10 pounds less than a traditional synthetic. Finally, when this string washes out after a lot of play, you might as well cut it out as it will no longer grab the ball and perform as expected. No worries, as this will take a while.

I've used the Hex Poly 17g for about 3 months now and in my opinion it's better than any other textured poly in the market. The strings gives me better bite, spin and control on the ball. It's not as harsh on the arm compare to other polys. I will continue to use this in the future.

The order was exactly as I wanted. I'm thoroughly impressed with your strings, particularly Snake Bite. As a player and a teaching professional, it is the only string I use and I highly recommend it to any player who wants to get more spin and pop on their ball. As long as you guys keep making this string, I will keep using it.

Very tough string that holds up. I have only broken Hex strings once. I use 17 Hex with 15 torque as sides. I string for my doubles partner and he uses a Red Poly string that cost twice as much and lasts half as long as my Poly Hex. I used to have to straighten my strings after every point, now rarely. Golden Set prices are great, and they allowed me to try a variety of strings (sample pack) until I found my best combo. Hex Poly and Torque. I am looking forward to try the 16 g Torque with the Hex Ploy, I am also try the new Snake Bite.

Snake Bites deliver on performance and price. I've tried Babolat, Luxilon and other over priced 'high label' brands and they all under deliver. Finally a co-poly that says what it does and does what it says. Snake bites are the best textured co-polys for your hard earned money. I will ONLY play with Snake Bites. Thank You Golden Set, keep making quality products!

Hex poly at 18 gage. It plays like a hybrid of babolate pro hurigane (main)/signum pro hextreem cross with a 10% less power. However, durability and tention maintenance is better but the same spin as the hybride compared above. It does have alot less spin than snake bite. Nothing compares to snake bite in regards to spin. Stringing: hex poly 18 gage/ 55 main and golden string synthetic on cross. 4 hours and still good. This combo is not stiff or soft. Medium spin capabilities when compared to snake bite. Recommended: Recommended for people who need long life strings(durability, tention), play at 60% control and 40% power. People who like spin but not excessive spin. My ratings: 3.5/5. Why: -1 point: Little or power -0.5 point: stiffness (compared to other) +0.5 point: Spin +1 point: for control and durability. +1 point: price Service rating: 5/5, Reliable source for purchasing and immediate shipping. Friendly too. My self: 20 years experience in tennis and stringing rackets.

This string feels like a tool that allows me to do this. I am stuck on this string and will be useing it for a long time to come.

As a teaching professional i ordered eight (8) sets of Snake Bite to see how it would compare with the Big Banger Savage a lot of my kids were using. With the Savage strings were breaking every three days. Now with Snake Bite the durability is twice that and more, and with increased spin over the Savage! I will only use Snake Bite and recommend it to all my players now.

I have been trying your Hex Poly string and so far have been quite please with it in every respect. I am a string breaker but Hex Poly 16L has been an excellent choice for me as I don`t have to compromise playability for getting a string that last a reasonable time. It is easy to work on a stringing machine and keep its tension for a long time. My son who re-string once or twice per week has also adopted Hex Poly recently and it works very well for him as well. I will definitely go back to Golden Set again and look forward to try other of your products. Thanks for your business with great affordable products

After testing a range of co-polys, I've come to the conclusion that Snakebite plays as well as the high-priced competition and is also at least as durable as Luxilon's Alu and Babolat's RPM. I've been gradually switching stringing customers over with good results as well. A caution, though: I tried an entire bed of Snakebite 16g. and almost tore my arm off. Tried Snakebite 17g on the mains and NXT on the crosses with good results. Switched to Velvet on the crosses which was at least as good and considerably more economical. I've been recommending that hybrid combo and haven't had a single complaint. It would be good if Velvet was a little more durable, but at the price, I can afford to restring more frequently. Currently experimenting with Powercord for mains and Velvet in crosses. A little softer on the almost 70-yr old arm, but not not as much bite.Except for the attenuator dampeners, which does last, Golden Set's other products are all excellent and priced well. Service in Canada is excellent.

Just to let everyone know that I just started using Snake Bite 16g for about 2 months now and have really liked the overall feel and spin and durability that I get from this string. Also I string racquets and have done about a dozen customers and the response has been great except one person. With that one person I ended up doing his second racquet with Snake bite(mains)16g and synthetic gut 16 and he really liked it. Either way I am sold and very affordable. Thank you very much from Jeremy Bell from Vernon,B.C.

I have purchased strings directly from Prince & Wilson and many other websites. My experience has been their sale prices are for old string and I was breaking Prince Topspin every month (sometimes every 2 plays, or 4 sets of tennis). I'm a 4.0 player with plenty of topsin but never experienced so many breaks. I purchased 2 reels from Golden set and Torque 16 has been a favorite of mine and my kids. I have had the longest time for strings with Hex Poly, I love the topspin we get and durability is the best. With 2 teenagers and myself hitting plenty of topspin, I don't like spending my time re-stringing 6 raquests (we all have a backup). Thank you for the quality and durability Goldent Set provides on their Torque 16 and Hex Poly, I look forward to purchasing a sample pack and try your other products.

A fellow tennis club member recommended these strings to me, and I've fallen in love with them since. I use these strings not only for myself but also for people who I string for. Very good durability, exceptional bite on the ball. A little time is needed to get used to the serve with these strings, but once timing is down, serves will fly off the racket. I plan on buying more Golden Set string to cross with these soon.

The Hex Poly produces great spin and control. I have used this string standalone in my raquet but I bet it would work great as a hybrid string with something more durable. The only negative I have is the stringing. The string is a little stiff when stringing, making my stringing time increase by a couple minutes. But it's well worth have a great playable racquet.

I recently tried Snake-Bite 17G mains in a hybrid setup with 17G multifilament crosses. I have tried many of the name brand polys in the past but never cared for the playability since I prefer a softer gut-like string bed feel. Snake-Bite was a complete surprise as it added serious spin to my ground strokes while keeping a decent feel to the racket. I am able to take a full cut when serving and the ball consistently lands in the back of the box with ample top spin. I am extremely happy with this string and plan on using it exclusively. It has elevated my game considerably. Thanks Golden Set! (USTA upper level 3.5)

I felt like I was able to get the added feel and spin from the string yet it was also comfortable and does not hurt my arm like some other strings. I actually gave my coach one racquet strung with Pro Hurricane Tour and one with this on a blind test and he liked this one better also. This string also made a great hybrid with Torque or Synthetic Gut. The price was also great too! Very glad that I switched.

My Review of Snake Bite 16 gauge: I currently use Golden Set Snake Bite 16G in my BLX Blade 98" strung at 55lbs. I am also currently the captain of my D3 college tennis, ranked inside the Top 30 in the country. I really love the power and spin that this string gives. I find that, with my serve and volley style, I can hit big first serves as well as really high-bouncing kick serves upon coming in. This string also provides a really nice surface to push volleys deep as well as hit touch shots. On the ground strokes, I love to power through the ball and this string definitely allows for that. I have also found that this string is ridiculously durable. I usually have to cut it out of my racquet before matches because it will last for so long. You also CAN'T BEAT THESE PRICES! Definitely best string for you hard earned bucks.

I string racquets for the tennis players in my neighborhood. The feedback on the hex poly strings has been very positive. The most popular request is to use the hex poly on the mains with the golden set torque on the cross strings. The bite on the ball is evident and you get a great pop off the serve. You can't beat the price when comparing this string to the babolat pro-huricane tour. The savings are passed on to my clients. Golden set strings will not disappoint!

I've been purchasing from Golden Set for the past year and I can say that the Snake Bite 17g is one of the best strings I've ever used. Its surprisingly soft, yet it offers such a good bite without compromising durability. Coming from the Luxilon Big Banger 16/17g, which I felt that it didn't offer enough feel, you get all of that with the Snake Bite. Also, it's more affordable, kudos to Golden Set for creating such a good string.
