I've been stringing rackets now for about 9 years and have primarily used golden set strings. The high school boys tennis team really like the snake bite strings. Probably because they look good and do bite the ball well. As a stringer I feel that the twisted nature of the hex poly maintains its tension well. Lately I have been using power cord because it's a softer control string. I really like the feel of these, but may switch to a hybrid with satin to get a little more pop and make it more arm friendly. It has been great to use and string with golden set, because it helps me to keep my prices down without suffering quality.

As a 3.5-4.0 tennis player playing for Tennis on Campus, I believe these are the best budget strings you can buy. There are a lot of alternatives such as pros pros and other cheaper strings on tennis warehouse, but none compare when it comes to quality like golden set. I always loved the original snake bites, but I do not like the feel of textured polys. Luckily, they released these beauties and I have not used anything else ever since. These will most likely be my choice of string for my whole tennis career. If you have arm problems, I would suggest hybriding it or trying their power cord instead.

We have 5 tennis players in our family ranging from my wife and myself at Seniors (Pennant) level to our 18 year old son playing UTR (Level 12.6) and ITF World Junior tournaments. My son has a contract providing a very well-known polyester. However, we all choose to hybrid this string with Hex Poly in the mains for its' durability, value for money and ability to offer confidence swinging freely at the ball. We find it offers more durability than the highly-touted poly, which we use in the crosses (even for a UTR 12.6 playing at the elite level). The overall feel is remarkably comfortable on the arm, which is particularly reassuring for my wife and myself as 50+yr old regular players. We will definitely continue to purchase Hex Poly reels (as we have done for a number of years) for its' incredible value for money and comfort. Matt - Australia

Satin definitely helped my arm issues, but it doesn't last too long when you use it as a hybrid with Snakebite Smooth. My arm is more important than my pocketbook, but I will be restringing often with this string. Overall, I'm happy with it. It does what I wanted it to do, which is to reduce the stress on my elbow.

PHENOMENAL STRING BACKED BY GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE Found out about Golden Set strings through a local Stringer and thought I would give it a try. Strung on my Prince 98 ESP (Extreme String Pattern) racquets I can generate phenomenal topspin. To top it off they are a great value price wise. Finally, I appreciate that Golden Set trust their Customers. I had to return some string a friend bought for my Birthday but was the wrong gauge. They shipped out the new string even before I could send back the old string. This kind of trust is rare and much appreciated. Cannot recommend Golden Set products enough. Great Company with a Great Product backed by Great Customer Service. Don Turner Atlanta, GA

I have had the pleasure to swing with the 19 Kevlar for well over a year now. I play a a lot of high school tennis and I found this string's attributes to be very fitting for my game. Being known for duration, the Kevlar does in fact last long, but the 19 thickness makes it less rough on the arm. Moreover the feel is exceptional. I have used this string for crosses on a poly hybrid, mains on a home made problend, and even tried it as a one piece and never have I had a complaint. I find the fray these strings make to be amazing. No matter how frayed it is, it manages to survive. The poly hybrid even got me a state championship for my team and runner up in the state for doubles. You cant go wrong with the 19 KEV!

I absolutely recommend these strings. The high quality, elevated performance, and attractive price point makes the Snake-Bites hard to beat compared to other brands of poly strings. As a stringer, I found these to be a joy to string because of its manageability (the coil memory completely vanishes right out of the package). Performance-wis-e, I found higher levels of control and power, which gave me more confidence to take full cuts at the ball. Golden Set Snake-Bite strings check all of the boxes of what one looks for in a performance poly.

I have been stringing and leading my customers to Golden Set products for 6 years. Snake Bite and Hex Poly are my 2 main go to's using Syn Gut for crosses for many hybrids. I recently had a player come to me with arm issues who could not stay with his current green string set up because of the pain in his arm that he attributed to the stiffness of the string. I suggested a full bed of Power Cord 17g due to the increased elasticity of the string and I lowered his tension 3 pounds. The player has reduced pain while not giving up playability and after daily play for 3 weeks with no breakage--I guess durability is not an issue either. Stringersforum has Power Cord 17g at an off the chart---6.67 rating albeit with a small sample size. Great string that I have started using as crosses with Snakes and Hex Polys and the players love it. Todd Van Duyn -Avon-- Next Day Stringers

Pleasantly surprised. Snake-Bite Smooth has similar spin as the hex. It feels more comfortable, too. As expected, the same great quality and durability. Big plus is easier stringing - easy to handle and less tough on my hand, skin & nails. I am very happy and satisfied to have included a reel of this new string in my purchase.

Very easy on the elbow. Good pocketing. Nothing to complain about. First time I can play with full bed of poly. Lots of my friends like it. I especially string it for women players who prefer poly on their racquets. I prefer the amber color though as it feels softer than the dark grey color. But both are still good.

As it's a thinner gauge, it is great for my arm, especially when in a hybrid set up with a synth gut. The tension maintenance is great and the price is absolutely unmatched.

My 13 year old son and I have also tried the classic which I bought as a package with snakebite. It has a nice feel but is short lived for anyone playing with some power. I have also used it in a hybrid setup with snakebite. It was good for the first few hours but the hard poly tears through it pretty quick. I consider it a decent string given the price for the beginners to intermediates. Customer service at Golden set has always been excellent. Fast shipping and easy to deal with. My tennis game has improved and my tennis elbow never came back. The online service from Golden Set was top notch and the fast delivery was better than expectations. I would highly recommend Golden Set Tennis for your tennis accessories. Thank you, Jean-Paul Pham Ottawa, ON

So for the last seven years I have been using Golden Set products. I have my own stringing machine which I originally bought just so I could tie my own tennis strings but has turned into doing work for others as well. It’s been nice to be able to order a selection of strings as well as grips and over grips for a great price and they work equal to the “big name” brands. I have found both the Secure Grip and the Elan Grip to work well. Over grips have been a great addition for me as they work great and I use them as a small bonus I send with the rackets for some of my consistent customers. For many years I used the Maximal 17 and loved the feel that the string gave me. But being a heavy topspin baseline player was looking for a little more from my string and had tried several different setups when I finally got around to trying there Power Cord 17(full bed). This is a great string, pockets the ball well, easy on the arm and a little extra spin on the ball is always good. Durability is better then some of the other strings I have used. I also like that Golden Set has a Canadian outlet. Orders are accurate and shipping is prompt. Thank you and I look forward to continue doing business with you. Jason

I am a primarily baseline player with moderate swing speed and moderate spin. I have this strung at 52/57 in my aerogel 300. It is by far the best kevlar string I have used. It has greatly improved my game, great spin on forehands and on serves. It has great feel and has lasted about 20 hours so far, still in no danger of breaking. If you like the way kevlar feels, this is definitely worth trying out, you won't be disappointed.

And the stringer guy looked upset while stringing my racquet, I didn't know different brands of strings could be easier or more difficult to string.

I have been ordering strings and accessories from GoldenSet for quite some time. I always have been impressed by 1: their prices, 2. the quality of their products and 3. their great customer service. I play quite often 2-3 times per week but I also travel a lot with my racquets and play whenever and wherever I go to. This requires me bringing racquets with me in airplanes and to places with different altitudes, temperatures and conditions. That’s why I keep coming back because I have to change my strings and grips, etc. quite often. Great bang for the buck. Recently, I tried out Snakebite smooth. Impressed with its control and spin. So far so good. Seems even more durable than the hex. Will order again. Thank you,

Quality control of string lengths and gauges was very good. The performance of all synthetic guts was exceptional, equal or superior to anything on the market. Snake bite and Hex Poly are fantastic strings. Both very forgiving polys with great performance after breaking in. Even if the strings were not so well priced, they would still be on my list of strings you must try. I been order from Golden Set different kind of strings and the Combos between Snake Bite, Power Cord and Hex-Poly combined with Synthetic Gut and Classic for Hybrid are excellent. I been stringing for 25 years and I work with coaches and players for National level and they love those combination of Hybrid from. Thank you Golden Set for such good quality of strings and prices value; Bye bye Luxilon, bye bye RPM and bye bye to many others strings that sponsor big players and consumers pay for it, it is not the case of Golden Set! Golden set Classic is great for the price. Perfect string for hybriding, gives a nice soft feel to the stringbed.
