Thanks for the opportunity to review the products I've purchased from Golden Set. Most recently I needed to replenish my stock of synthetic gut. There was no hesitation to come back to Golden Set for the mono-filament Classic 16g, and Synthetic Gut 17g. Both of these have become a staple in my string inventory due to the durability and play-ability my customers experience using them. I have customers who like their entire racquet strung with these strings and those who like using them as crosses in a hybrid set-up. These strings cover the spectrum of my needs as a stringer, providing quality strings and competitive prices. Thanks Golden Set!

My 13 year old son and I have also tried the classic which I bought as a package with snakebite. It has a nice feel but is short lived for anyone playing with some power. I have also used it in a hybrid setup with snakebite. It was good for the first few hours but the hard poly tears through it pretty quick. I consider it a decent string given the price for the beginners to intermediates. Customer service at Golden set has always been excellent. Fast shipping and easy to deal with. Thank you, Eric Simard Ontario, Canada

Snake Bite is a good string for the money. I tried as a full poly and as a hybrid w/ classic and have decided to stay with the hybrid setup. I like the softness of the snake/ classic and still have adequate spin but with added power. I will be purchasing more strings after I'm all out. Thanks Golden Set and keep up the great work!

I have been using Golden Set products for about four years and wish I had discovered them many years ago.The products are excellent and reasonably priced. I am 87 and live in Longboat Key, Florida where I play tennis at least 5 and usually six days a week.I still play singles when I can find someone who will. My USTA 3.5 team on which I played number 2 position won the Florida State championship in year 2000 and went to Palm Springs where we finished seventh nationally. I have tried different Golden Set strings but finally tried an experiment which has worked very well for me and also for my wife who was a highly ranked player in the womens 35s in the 1970s. We both have used the same racquet for 12 years, a Wilson NCode, N1 Force which is an oversized 125. I have syngut 17g , black in the mains which could also be syngut 17g natural and velvet 17g natural color in the crosses, both strung at 62 pounds. It may sound weird but it works for me and my wife and that is all that count I also find the overgrips to be excellent Bill Allen

My name is Ed Goldbaum and I own All Pro Basics Sporting Goods in Los Angeles California. I String about ten racquetball racquets and 5 tennis racquets per week. The Classic Reels are the best value I can give to my customers. I have not had one complaint. When strung correctly the power is unsurpassed. I think everyone should try the classic at least once. You will never go back if you try it. Thanks Golden Set we love all your products. Eddie Goldbaum

Its been about 6 months now that I have been stringing my own racquets & that of my friends with Snake Bite & Synthetic gut. The control & durability of these strings are amazing. I play with the Wilson 105 S which is a good & powerful racquet but is also a string breaker being 16x15 pattern. I use both 16 gauge on the main Snake Bite & Syn Gut on the cross which offers a good combination for playability. There is a marked improvement on spin for both my ground strokes & serve. As for value “the price is right”. I have been spreading the good word about the quality & value of Golden Set Strings. Thanks, Vic

I'm just a home stringer and I ordered the white colored 16 awhile back. I put it on my PS 85 at around 56 and its quite comfy. It does start moving a bit after rounds of pounding but I figure that putting poly on mains will solve that problem. Very good price for very good value. Buy this, the price is same as two or three name brand sets. But this is better, and you get 16 sets.

I have coached junior and senior high school tennis for approx. 20 years and also string their racquets. I have learned a lot about string and rackets over time. The quality of Golden Set string is second to none. I cannot tell the difference between Golden Sets and the high cost racket brand strings. I can usually change a player's string to Golden Set string without any problem. I use a lot of synthetic gut for the players who are not string breakers and string with a two color look, black mains white crosses. For the string breakers, I was stringing the mains and crosses in poly or copoly but when we started to notice soreness in the elbows we switched to a hybrid with Snakebite 17 for the mains, and Golden Sets synthetic gut 16 for the crosses and this works great. Quality Score is an A+. Price is A+ and it's the main reason I keep buying all my string and grip from Golden Set. Finally, customer service is A+. When I place an order, it is on my front porch in a few days. I'm sold on your products, your price, and your service. Thanks Ted Childers Greenwood, Arkansas October 6, 2014

I'm a solid 3.5 with increasing moments of 4.0 performance, as are most of my opponents and buddies. I enter USTA tourneys a few times a year and play in ladders; on a good week I get 8 or more sets in. We range from 30-45 years old, mostly athletic baseline "bangers" and we all tried name brand "poly's" when it became the rage, but quickly found out that its lack of give wasn't the best choice for "mature" joints. I was looking for a decent priced string that played like one of my favorites (Prince Duraflex), and I discovered your 16g Classic reel to be a great price, had some nice color options, and was easy to work with. Your classic 16g gets rave reviews from me and my friends I string for. The black color looks "bad ass" and it has a good feel and a nice combo of durability and playability. I find if you string it 2-5 lbs. heavier than you prefer it settles in nicely after about 2 sets and feels great. I also use it on the crosses on some of my friend's racquets who have no issues going "poly" on the mains. Chris Mallison April 25 2012

According to my 16 year-old son, a 6.5 competitive player, the hybrid Power Cord 16g (main) and Synthetic Gut, 16 g. (cross) strung at 57lbs, performs better than the Donnay CoPoly and X-Micro, 16g. I'm informed that Golden Set Hydrid "feels softer; it allows him to pocket and control high-velocity balls when hitting and returning them during intensive training with his group from the USTA High Performance Junior Development Program at the Billie Jean King National Tennis Center, NTC, Flushing, NY, the official venue for the U.S. Open.

I'm very pleased with Golden Set Classic 16 thus far. I have been using it as the cross strings in combination with snake bite 17 for the mains with great results. I have been putting the Classic on for the crosses a few pounds tighter than the mains so they set the Snake Bite up in a rough string bed for terrific 'bite'. I had initially expected them to get groovy pretty quick but they have surprised me with their durability and they give me a real nice, soft, smooth cross for the snake bite to slide back and forth on. So far so good - everyone loves this combination and I'm going to keep on using it as my main combination.

I'm a high school coach and I use this string through the year for players who are new to tennis to our more experienced varsity players. They like the feel and I like the durability the string has. Shipping is always fast and the customer service is top notch.

I have been playing with Golden Set Classic 16 in my old Wilson Pro Staff 6.0 for a few months now. It has good feel and also good pop when I need to hit the ball a little harder than normal. I usually string it at about 58 pounds and it seems to be a little more durable than Prince Synthetic. I plan to try some of the other strings from Golden Set since I have my own stringing machine.

I received my goldenset order a few weeks ago and I am extremely happy with your products. I have been a goldenset customer for several years now. I normally blend snakebite and synthetic gut and decided to try your power cord. The power cord is a very playable string and generates a great deal of spin. Your prices are unbeatable and I am pleased to say that you have a customer for life. Thanks.

We have been using Golden Set string for nearly two years now and have experienced nothing less than professional service. They always go out of their way to make sure we get what we need in a timely fashion. The playability and durability of the strings are outstanding (our team mainly uses the Hex Poly/Classic Syn hybrid,) and all at an unbeatable value. My son and I love the hex-poly with your syn-gut in the crosses strung at 55 & 53. He is 15 and 6" 3" and a big hitter playing 4 or 5 days a week. I get more, but we usually get 3 weeks out of this string for him. Great control and spin, and good durability

I have purchased many different strings from golden set, synthetic 17, poly 17, and hex 17. all are great quality. i have tried many different type of strings and golden set is by far the best string for its price. I chose 17 gauge because of the playability. the poly material lasts very long and has saved me a lot of money.

I got the sampler pack and it has been tremendous to be able to try out each string. So far I think their polys are not only fantastic strings, but such a great value. The same can be said for their synthetic gut, very playable and very reasonably priced when compared to "the others."

I'm about a 5.0 level player, and had been using another brand of synthetic gut before I tried this string. However,I have seen far greater durability with Golden Set Optimum, and it plays very soft and feels nice. I use 16 gauge to keep it lasting long, and have had none of the "random factory error" string breaks that people normally talk about with regard to less expensive string. In fact, the value of this string is what keeps me using it; I get a nice feel on contact and still get much more string life for my money than other brands. Using it as a hybrid with Golden Set Poly works wonderfully. Delivery was quick, service was very professional. I have never had a problem. Highly recommended.

I am very happy with the purchases I made from Golden Set. I am using the synthetic gut and cannot tell any difference from the Prince I used previously (except it is less than half the price ) I purchased a repacement grip which again I am using and like the feel of and also a few overgrips which are also in service and performing well. I will definately purchase from you as soon as I need more gear.
